How can the Careers and Majors section help me?
The Career and Majors section contains information on over 300 Careers and College Majors.
The following topics are discussed within each career choice choosen:
Nature of Work
Working Conditions
Employment
Training, Other Qualifications and Advancement
Job Outlook
Earnings
Related Occupations
How is the section arranged?
The Careers and Majors section is initially divided into two main sections:
"College Degree"
and "Non-Degree" .
The College Degree section is further sub-divided into the various COLLEGES
that might exist at a University such as: COLLEGE of ENGINEERING , and COLLEGE of LIFE SCIENCE ; College
Degrees are usually required for Careers in these areas. The Non-Degree section is sub-divided
into various SCHOOLS such as "SCHOOL of CLERICAL STUDIES" and "SCHOOL of HEALTH TECHNOLOGY" .
These Careers usually do not require a college degree, however specialized schooling is sometimes necessary.
The College Degree section contains the following COLLEGES , You may select one and immediately go to that section( Remember you must select
the Back Arrow located at the top of the COLLEGE COMPASS Application to Return to this Help Section):
The Non-Degree section contains the following SCHOOLS. You may select one and immediately go to that section.
How do I find information on a particular career or major?
You can find information on a particular Career or Major by first determining whether a College Degree
is required, and then progressively moving through the menu structure to locate the career. You can
also select the "CAREERS INDEX" to go directly to your area of interest.
How do I find information on careers and majors that are related?
Because the Careers and Majors section is sub-divided into COLLEGES or SCHOOLS you can readily review
related careers by moving through the menu structure to the particular COLLEGE or SCHOOL.
For Example: If you seek various Engineering Careers then proceed as follows, through the COLLEGE COMPASS
Application.
Step 1. Select " CAREERS AND MAJORS " from the COLLEGE COMPASS Home Page.
Step 2. Select " COLLEGE DEGREE " from the Careers and Majors Page.
Step 3. Select " ENGINEERING " from the College Degree Page.
Now you have access to all information regarding Engineering maintained by COLLEGE COMPASS.
How can COLLEGE COMPASS help me choose a career or major?
COLLEGE COMPASS can help you select a Career or Major taking an inventory of your interest and matching
them against related Career characteristics. You can do this by selecting
