CREDIT MANUAL -- PAGE 41 Methods of Credit Clinics

We will now discuss methods used by some credit clinics. These methods claim to erase bad credit using little known methods that often do not work.

Frivolous Disputes:

The idea behind this method is that if a consumer challenges information on his or her credit report, the credit bureau must check with the source reporting the information to determine if it is correct. If it cannot be confirmed, or if the creditor fails to respond the data must be dropped from the file. Now the credit clinic will instruct the consumer to dispute information in their files repeatedly; in an attempt to have some request go unverified. Thereby forcing the credit bureau to temporarily remove the negative entry.

Starting Over Again:

Credit Clinics also suggest that consumers dispute all information in their files, including social security number, name and etc. The goal is to distort the file so that it no longer identifies the consumer The consumer can then begin creating a brand new credit file.

Create a New Identity:

Using this method, you create a totally new identity for yourself. There are books that can show you how to change your name and so forth.

Create a New Credit File:

Instead of creating a new identity you can use another version of you name and establish a post office box and use it as you address. You will probably have to transpose the letters of your social security number too.

Payment Delay:

Payment delays are used to give a consumer more time to pay a bill, for instance you do not sign your check, or scratch out the numbers on your bill if it is computerized. Once again, these tactics are sometimes used by some credit clinics and are provided for information purposes.
